Now that it is at the end of the year, most of us reflect on what we have achieved and what we still want to work on. Below may be thoughts that you are having. For the fun of it, turn it into an awareness assignment for yourself: “how I am going to change in 2013.”

Year End Reflections
What have you accomplished and learned this year? Be specific and write it all down.

Please take time to recognize your achievements, whether they are big or small.

What got in your way? Be honest! Acknowledge and thank the challenges. Remember, we do all kinds of things to sabotage ourselves when we are called upon to make a change in our lives.

Who contributed to your success(es)? Family, friends, mentors? Tell those people how grateful you are that they have helped you to grow, and give yourself a pat on the back.

What still needs work?

What lessons did you learn?

There are no “mistakes” in life. Every experience is a life lesson so that we may learn from them and help us to grow.

Where did you not take responsibility? Growing is not easy, especially if your beliefs are being tested or reassessed.

Are you open to changes? Can you see the value in life lessons, even if they are painful?

What can you let go and what can you not?Ā  By allowing yourself to let go of things that are bothering you, you will allow yourself to grow. Think of it as a plant that has some dead leaves hanging from it. By removing the dead leaves, you are allowing the full potential of that plant to grow and flourish.

What you can’t let go, own it and be okay with that decision. No one ever said that letting go is easy.
