Thank you Brigham and Women Hospital’s 8th Floor Cardiovascular Nurses

Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) – On June 20, 2014, Reflexologist Helen Chin Lui lugged her anti-gravity chair and lotions with her to give relaxation reflexology sessions to the 8th floor cardiovascular nurses at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. It is one of the ways the hospital honors their nurses, and their way of saying “thank you and you are doing a super job, so let us take care of you for a while.” BWH coordinates several wellness fairs a year for nurses. Helen is honored and pleased that they have invited her back for the second year as the only reflexologist. The nurses were happy to see Helen and some even remembered her from the previous wellness fairs.

During the three hour session, the nurses were able to experience all the relaxation services offered such as reflexology, massage and reiki. In between relaxation sessions nurses could sample various nutritious snacks while listening to live harp music. Helen was able to give thirteen, mini relaxation reflexology sessions during the three hour period. The participants were appreciative and some wanted to extend their sessions because they were so relaxed…but back they went to tend to their patients. Another time perhaps.

The Healing Place looks forward to future nurses’ wellness fairs.
