Have Tinnitus? Ears Ringing? Hand, Foot and Ear Reflexology Tips

Did you know that 10 percent of American adults suffer from Tinnitus? A condition that causes sufferers to hear constant phantom noises in the ears described as ringing, buzzing, whistling, hissing, clicking or whooshing.

The noise may vary in intensity from a low background noise to a high pitched squeal and in one or both ears. Occasionally the sound is so intense that it can interfere with the ability to concentrate and the hearing disruption can be overbearing.

How does Reflexology help alleviate ear pain? Reflexology is a noninvasive and gentle alternative medicine. By applying pressure to reflex points located on the feet, hands, and ears, messages are sent to the brain indicating where there is an energy imbalance. Energy imbalance usually mean “PAIN!”

There are reflexology points that correspond to every organ, glands, and tissues in the body. By pressing firmly (not painfully) on these points, the body recognizes where the energy imbalances are and starts the healing process. Many people have found tremendous relief from chronic pain and are grateful. The best part about Reflexology it is that it only takes minutes to apply.

There are three Reflexology methods that you can try at home, Hand, Foot and Ear Reflexology. You may combine all three methods or if you are not up to doing all three methods, rotate one for each day for a minute or two, several times a day.

In the feet and hands, the nerve endings for the ears reflex points are located under the fourth (pinkie) and third toes of each foot and hands.

Starting with either the right foot or right hand, press firmly under fourth and third toe or finger for 3 seconds, release and repeat for two more times. Repeat on the left foot and hand.

In the ears, the ear reflexology points are located where you would insert an earring. On right earlobe, the ear point is located on the right side of the earring hole and on the left side of the earring hole.

Start with the right ear lobe, stroke from the top (ear opening) to the edge of the right side ear lobe, repeating for 10-20 seconds and do the same for the left ear lobe.

Practice this technique several times a day until you start to feel better.

Not sure, top, top of the ear or where the ear canal starts? Stroke in down ward motion only, or up and down?
    Thanks for any help.

Carola, I hope you receive my other message. Stoking the ear lobes can begin from the ear opening canal down to the edge of your ear lobes. It is best to do several times a day for a minute or two if you have the time until you feel better. If you have other questions, please email. Thank you.
