WHAT IS ALTERNATIVE HEALING?
Alternative healing is taking a holistic approach when seeking treatment for imbalances and choosing to live a more balanced and mindful lifestyle.
What distinguishes alternative medicine from conventional medicine is that it focuses on the root of the problem as opposed to only the physical health component.
Experiencing physical discomfort is usually the driving reason as to why people pursue alternative healing in the first place. In most cases, people seek out alternative healing when traditional medicine no longer works or has never worked, or they want to heal in a natural way.
Holistic healing addresses all parts of the individual including the mind, body and spirit and not just the physical discomfort where illnesses and diseases have manifested.
Alternative healing is not intended to serve as a Band-Aid or go once. It is an ongoing journey of self-discovery resulting in living better, becoming healthier, and striving for the wholeness of the mind, body, and spirit.

What happens when we feel unbalanced?
The first sign is having a feeling of conflict. Many of us are stressed and anxious. We end up fighting with our feelings about how much we can accomplish. Most of us are over-scheduled and overworked. Something feels out of place, and you can’t put your finger on it. There is also the feeling of disassociation with your body that eventually can be quickly manifest into illness or disease.
Why work with an alternative practitioner?
An alternative healer recognizes why there are discomforts or pains. Many times these are symptoms of imbalance and the healer will seek the roots of the health issues. The practitioner will evaluate the “whole person” and uses all information gathered to suggest the appropriate energy healing for the client.
Keep in mind; not all holistic healers are equal. Each has their specialty and expertise. It would be best to do your research, ask for referrals, and make calls and ask questions about what the practitioner's specialty, background, education and how she or he can help you.
Most holistic healers offer free consultations. Choosing a holistic healer is no different than finding the right medical professional for you.
