Our bodies are filtering toxins 24-7 days a week. Unfortunately, many of us do not always eat the right foods to support good health. To help to process toxins through your filtering organs, try this exercise. If you have any questions about starting a yoga regimen, please check with your health provider.

#5 Wide Legged Forward Fold Pose (Prasarita Padottasana):

Benefits: Stretches and lengthens calves and hamstrings. Tones internal organs by flushing them with fresh blood, including the liver, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, gallbladder, and all digestive organs. Oxygenates the central nervous system. Calms and soothes the entire nervous system.

Directions: From a standing pose, inhale as you step or lightly hop your feet apart wider than hip-width distance. Bring your feet parallel or turn your front toes and your heels out. Exhale; lower your chest down while keeping a flat back. Bring your hands to the mat or the back of your legs. Shift your weight forward, lengthen your spine, and relax your neck. Hold for 5-10 breathes.

Contraindications: Avoid this pose if you are currently experiencing lower-back problems.
