Spring season is prime time for big colorful salads, especially when you add fresh basil, tomatoes and bell peppers from your garden. How do you spell fresh? Or, how about visiting your local farmers markets that just picked their fresh organic produce at 5 am and you are there by 9 am. I love the taste and smell of a great salad sprinkled with a little fresh lemon and a few herbs. Yum. However, I have found many clients and friends like to bury their masterpiece by overdressing it. Yes they dump a “toxic goo” on top of a big beautiful fresh, organic, salad and call it a dressing. Yuk! Are you one of those that can’t have salad without your favorite store bought bottled dressing? You may be addicted.

Caught in the dressing addiction? Bringing a store-bought salad dressing into the equation, changes the goodness of your intentions and your salad. Most store bought salad dressings are anything but fresh. They are filled with hard to pronounce chemicals and other “unnecessary” toxic ingredients.

I have read salad dressing labels that contain 15 or more toxins, which can keep you in a state of addiction. Corporate Business Interests wants us to believe trans-fats, toxic
salts, GMO cornstarch, GMO sugars, fake flavors, MSG and chemical colors are foods everyone should want to eat.

Consider that great tasting salad you just made. By drowning your wonderful, colorful, healthy creation in a toxic soup we call “salad dressing,” you just destroyed any benefits
it may have. It can leave your body nutrient dense, fat, toxic and sick. What you need to know.

Using ingredients that can harm the brain? Scientists recently discovered that ingesting a high-fructose diet for just six weeks could make you dumb.(1) We can find high-fructose corn syrup in many processed junk foods, croutons and salad dressings. HFCS contains mercury, which can harm our brains. It increases high triglyceride levels. An abundance of sugar, of toxic salt and MSG are ingredients they use to trick us into thinking it taste good. Besides flavor enhancers they use GMO’s. (corn, eggs and dairy products) Fat-free salad dressings are often misleading and packed with aspartame and/or beet sugar. Fruit dressings, like raspberry vinaigrette, may be void of any real raspberries and deceive us with chemicals and sweeteners.

Hard parmesan cheeses in salad dressings can contain morphine,(2) which is an energy zapper. 70% of Americans are fat and toxic and MSG plays a roll. Monosodium glutamate, or MSG, is an amino acid that helps intensify the flavor of many canned, processed, bottled or boxed food. MSG is an excitotoxin which can harm our brain, digestivesystem and skin health. (Dr. Russell Blaylock -Excitotoxins the Taste that Kills) By adding it to things like soups and salad dressings, companies are able to reduce the
amount of real ingredients in their foods, according for Center for Science in the Public Interest. The problem is, animal studies link the food additive to nerve cell damage in
the brain.

Make sure you Read the other ingredients on the label, such as flavorings and hydrolyzed vegetable protein which are glutamate & MSG, according to CSPI. Fresh is always better. Try making your own salad dressing. You can whisk up some raspberries, fresh herbs and lemon, raw cashews and organic olive oil in a food processor in seconds. Here is a simple balsamic and oil salad dressing recipe you can make in less than 5 minutes.

Dyes, Let’s reset those taste buds. Sugar, fat, salt, and MSG are extremely addictive substances found in salad dressings. Trans- fats are dangerous to our health, but our taste buds seem to love them. Once we’re hooked, it’s hard to give them up.

Resetting those taste buds is about changing your mind in order to make healthier food choices. ‘Change your mind-change your life!’ (Dr. Daniel Amen) Health is a choice.
Reclaim it today by becoming aware that your food choices and your subsequent addictions from them, can leave you sick, fat and tired. Ditch your salad dressing and
it’s ability to keep you toxic. Making positive healthy choices can impact your long-term health.
