Honor Your Spirit Meditation
How often do you take yourself for granted by dismissing your needs to feel balanced? Just about everyone dismisses their needs and put everyone’s needs above their own.
Why do we do this? Since childhood, we have been trained to fulfill our loved one, co-workers, and sometimes, friends before we address what we need to keep us sane and grounded.
Take Time to Feed Your Spirit
A friend, Annie, taught me a life essential formula that I have never forgotten. She said that I must practice wellness daily for physical, emotional health, inner peace, and joy. There is a guilty pleasure when we put time aside for ourselves, but it is not only essential but critical for our well being. We must focus on ourselves daily. Not only does this honor your spirit, but it also teaches our children and others that we matter and not put ourselves on the back burner while caring for everyone else’s needs before we look at our own.
Life Preservation Secrets
- Reserve one hour a daily for yourself
- Reserve one day a week for yourself
- Reserve one week a year for yourself.
I am able to practice one hour daily with meditation and exercise. I am still working on number two. For number three, for the first time at the age of 65, I took a two week journey to Peru in 2019 to work with a shaman.
Meditation has been helpful to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. When we take time to sit quietly, we are training our brain and body to be still and stop overthinking and overprocessing. Meditation allows us to rest, relax, and disconnect with our world for a while.
Feed Your Spirit Meditation
I have been seeing Helen Chin Lui for for reflexology sessions. While initially, I never expected to experience any noticeable changes, gradually I have discovered that each session leaves me feeling profoundly relaxed. Any anxiety I had been carrying around within my muscles and tissues is released, resulting in a calmer, more benign outlook. My sleep is improved and I find that I am not as apt to worry about or react to minor mishaps. Given individual differences, it might be useful to see what reflexology could do for any person interested in viewing life through a different perspective.
