We rush from task to task never taking notice of our surroundings, and we wonder why we are so stressed and anxious. If you only knew what the power of a single breath could do towards your overall well-being. It takes so little time to find peace as youā€™re rushing around from event to event.

Take five minutes out of your daily schedule and sit quietly without distractions. (Sorry ā€“ no TV, radio, telephone or childrenā€¦ Send them to a friendā€™s house.) Learning to breathe from your diaphragm is magical. It is important to take slow, full breaths until you feel your stomach moving up and down rhythmically.

Just imagine that you are releasing stress with each exhale. I usually imagine my stress flying away on a cloud. If you are not used to taking in full breaths, you are going to find that your lungs are going to hurt. Like anything else in your body, you need to exercise your lungs too. Can you believe that most people breathe shallowly without realizing it? At the end of five minutes, you are going to feel better.

You will feel more peaceful, more relaxed, and you will be clear minded. Try this breathing exercise twice a day ā€“ preferably at the beginning and end of the day ā€“ and you are going to notice a huge difference in your outlook on life and how you handle situations.
