The act of swishing the oil around in the mouth stimulates the enzymes present in the mouth, which in turn remove the toxins from the blood. Do not to swallow the oil as it will contain the toxins removed from your body. If you should accidentally swallow it, do not panic; your body will go through the process of filtering it out naturally.
When the fifteen to twenty minutes are up and you spit out the oil, it will look white. The white oil contains the toxins pulled from your body through the mouth’s mucous membranes. If you notice that the oil did not turn white and is instead yellow, this means that you did not pull the oil long enough. Simply spit it out, rinse the mouth well with water, and start over with another tablespoon of oil.
