Do You Live Time or Are You a Time Waster?

The buzz words today are “Time Management.” We make hundreds of decisions daily deciding how to utilize our time to maximize our productivity. Many wish that there are more than 24 hours a day (sometimes I feel this way,) but everyone has the same 24 hours. While many people achieve balance, happiness, productivity, and success, many take time for granted and complain about now having enough.

From my observations, I see six types of people and how they use and balance their precious time.

Time Makers

People with intention and desire schedule their time to fill their days with things they want to do and people they want to see. They prioritize their days by developing realistic to-do lists.

Time Finders

People who squeeze in events, tasks, and things because they think they have to and not because they want to. They usually self-sabotage from over planning. They are not  good with setting boundaries.

Time Chasers

People who chase time as though time is a tangible object. What the time chaser doesn’t know is that time can’t be bottled, captured, or controlled. Time chasers believe there is never enough time, but there is.

Time Wasters

People who talk about what they are going to do then fall off the track and get nothing done. They go around in circles in their head looking for direction.

Time Killers

People who have too much time on their hands and they don’t know how to fill their days. These people are usually the complainers, depressed, or stuck somewhere in time.

Time Keeper

Are you a blend of all of the above, or do you tend to lean to one definition? There is no wrong way to manage your time, it is a matter of finding the right balance for you.

There is Enough Time!

If you believe that you don’t have enough time, then you won’t have it. If you stop trying to control time, then you will have more than enough. If you wait for time to show up and do it for you, it’s not going to happen.

Learning to balance all the facets of time is key to finding peace and reducing stress.
