We rush from task to task never take notice of our surroundings. We wonder why we are so stressed and anxious. If you only knew how powerful a single breath can release stress and anxiety while supporting your overall well-being.
Learn how to consciously breathe. Take five minutes out of your daily schedule and sit quietly without distractions. You can breathe anywhere and anytime. Learn to breathe from your diaphragm. The experience can be magical. During a deep breathing session, take slow and full breaths until you feel your stomach moves rhythmically.
With each exhale, imagine your stress is releasing and flowing away on a cloud. When you first begin to breathe fully, it may be painful to breathe until you strengthen your lungs. With time you will be breathing fully all of the time.
Most people breathe shallowly without knowing it. If you are a newbie to breathing, I suggest posting a reminder to take ten full breaths an hour until conscious breathing becomes standard practice.
At the end of five minutes of full breathing, you will feel better, more peaceful, and clear minded. Try this breathing exercise twice a day. I like to do my breathing exercises at the beginning and the end of the day. You will notice a difference in how you feel, your outlook on life will change, and how you handle stressful situations.
