Acid Reflux Relief – Reflexology Tip

Lots of us get heartburn, but how do we stop getting it? For some it’s little purple pill or a swig of a pink potion, while others just grit their teeth and bear it; none of which solve the problem or prevent future episodes.

Fortunately, heartburn is very treatable and all of us have the power to stop the fire before it starts — without drugs, potions or unpleasant side effects.

Where Does Acid Reflux Begin

Everyone needs proper levels of stomach acid in order to break down foods and absorb nutrients, including minerals, vitamins, and folic acid. If you don’t have enough stomach acid, you can’t fight off infections or invasive bacteria. HCl is crucial in preventing bacteria from migrating from the small intestines and colonizing in the stomach. Think about the last time when you were sick – did it take a long time to get over it?

People diagnosed with inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Celiac Disease, GERD, or IBS, have stomach acid problems. If you have made changes in your diet and lifestyles and you are not seeing results, check with your health provider.

If you experience acid reflux, heartburn, burping, gas, or nausea after eating, it is likely that you have low stomach acid.

How Does Pressure Build Up in the Abdomen?

The constant pressure in the abdomen known as intra-abdominal pressure (IAP). When there is insufficient stomach acid, IAP increases and pushes against the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). If the lining of esophagus lacks the protective coating, any stomach acid pushes up into the LES produces a painful burning sensation.

Acid Reflux Elixir to Soothe Burning Heartburn

By increasing, hydrochloric acid will improve digestion while eliminating gas and bloating. 

 In a tall glass mix together: 

  • 8-12 oz of warm water, 
  • 1 tablespoon of mother apple cider vinegar (like Braggs)
  • 1 tablespoon of real honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of complete greens powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. 

This drink has helped many of the Healing Place’s clients when their digestion is off. Start off with drinking one or two glasses a day, upon improvement,drink  every other day, then twice a week, then once a week and so on. Many now drink monthly to maintain maximum digestive function. 


Hand Reflexology tip to Soothe Burning Heartburn

Before working with Helen I was frustrated by fatigue, stress, bloating, and digestive disorders (stomach aches, gas, constipation).  I had tried probiotics, massage, thyroid medication, and dietary adjustments.  The probiotics I tried were hard on my stomach, and the dietary recommendations of my doctor were hard to follow (soy instead of milk, for example) and unhelpful. During our first session I could feel organs and muscles reacting to her touch on my feet!  I was really surprised by feelings of lightness—both physical and mental—and calmness.  In follow-up sessions I have found continued improvement in my digestive health and my fatigue levels.
