Starting today you can activate your ability to self heal by learning Reiki! People are often afraid of Reiki because it is unfamiliar and operates outside the framework of conventional medicine. Since Reiki is based on the concept of an unseen “universal life energy,” many find it difficult to trust something they cannot see, measure, or scientifically prove.

Reiki Versus Traditional Medicine

Some worry that embracing Reiki means abandoning scientific principles or being deceived by something that lacks empirical evidence. Everyone can self-heal on some level, but since we are used to giving away our healing powers to others, we do not believe we can activate our ability to self-heal. Learn more about Reiki and what it can do for you.

Reiki Introduction

Reiki is made of subtle universal life force energy. This invisible, powerful, creative energy gives life to matter and is essential to all living and non-living life forms.

Reiki is a gentle yet potent Japanese stress reduction and relaxation technique that promotes physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Reiki comprises two Japanese words: “Rei,” which means universal spirit, and “Ki,” which means life force energy.

Reiki is administered by “laying hands” on or above the person. Utilizing the unseen “life force,” the energy can be redirected and shared with other living beings. If your energy flow is low, slow, sluggish, or blocked, your life force energy will be affected, and you are more likely to become sick, stressed, and unbalanced. You can maintain balance and good health if your energy flow is strong.

Reiki is Beneficial for:

  • Stress and pain relief
  • Promoting better sleep
  • Center – Balance – Focus
  • Spiritual and emotional growth

Founder of Reiki

A Japanese monk, Dr. Mikao Usui, rediscovered Reiki around 1922. Dr. Usui was born to a wealthy Buddhist family in 1865. He had a well-rounded education that included studying at a Buddhist monastery, where he learned martial arts, swordsmanship, and a Japanese form of Chi Kung, known as Kiko.

Dr. Usui was interested in medicine, psychology, and theology. These interests led him to seek ways to heal himself and others by laying hands. He wanted to develop a healing method that was not attached to any specific religion or religious practice and would be accessible to everyone.

Who can be a Reiki Practitioner?

Reiki practitioners serve as conduits to channel universal energy to heal, harmonize, and restore energy balance. A Reiki treatment radiates flowing energy throughout the body to heal the mind, body, and spirit. This results in a sense of relaxation, peace, and overall well-being. Many people describe Reiki healing as similar to meditating.

How Does Reiki Heal?

Reiki releases stuck and stagnant emotions when they cannot be released. Nerve cells, muscles, organs, and fat cells are great emotional reservoirs that house stuck emotions. When you are stressed, notice your course of action. Do you find yourself eating for comfort? Check out your health or body- notice your body shape or what part of your body is feeling sick; this is usually a sign of stuck and stagnant energy built up. We indulge in destructive behavior patterns instead of addressing why we think or feel like we do.
