Are you looking for relief from Asthma? COPD? Emphysema? Bronchitis? Try Reflexology to find relief from respiratory problems.

More than 34 millionĀ Americans live with chronic lung diseases like asthma and COPD, which include emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

What is a Respiratory Problem?

A respiratory problem is any condition or disorder that affects the respiratory system, including the organs involved in breathing. The respiratory system is responsible for taking in oxygen from the air and eliminating carbon dioxide from the body.

Respiratory problems can encompass many conditions, ranging from acute infections to chronic diseases. Some common examples of respiratory problems include:

  1. Asthma: A chronic condition characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, leading to recurring episodes of wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
  2. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): A progressive lung disease resulting from long-term exposure to irritants like smoking. COPD includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema, causing difficulty breathing, coughing, and excess mucus production.
  3. Pneumonia: An infection that inflames the air sacs in one or both lungs, leading to symptoms such as cough, fever, chest pain, and difficulty breathing.
  4. Bronchitis: Inflammation of the bronchial tubes impedes carrying air to and from the lungs. Viral infection often causes acute bronchitis, coughing, chest congestion, and phlegm production.
  5. Respiratory infections: Various infections can affect the respiratory system, including the common cold, influenza (flu), and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). These infections typically cause symptoms like coughing, sneezing, sore throat, and congestion.
  6. Pulmonary fibrosis: A condition characterized by scarring of the lung tissue, which can lead to progressive lung stiffness, reduced lung function, and shortness of breath.
  7. Sleep apnea: A sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing or shallow breathing during sleep. This interruption in breathing can lead to daytime sleepiness, fatigue, and other health complications.

The solar plexus and diaphragm reflex points are areas of the body associated with the functioning of the diaphragm and the breath. Stimulating these reflex points can help create more lung space for deep breathing by promoting relaxation and improving the overall function of the respiratory system.

The solar plexus is a complex network of nerves in the upper abdomen, just below the sternum, and connected to the diaphragm, the primary muscle responsible for breathing. When the solar plexus is stimulated, it can help relax the diaphragm and encourage deeper, more efficient breathing.

The reflexology diaphragm reflex point is located under the ball of both feet; by applying pressure, you can activate the reflexes connected to the diaphragm. A slight pressure of 10 seconds can release tension in the diaphragm and enhance its flexibility, allowing for increased lung expansion and deeper breaths.

How Can Reflexology Help with Respiratory Problems?

When the solar plexus and diaphragm reflex points are manipulated, it can have a positive effect on the respiratory system in several ways:

  1. Relaxation: Reflexology techniques applied to the solar plexus and diaphragm points can promote relaxation and relieve stress and anxiety by reducing tension in the muscles surrounding the diaphragm. Thus becomes easier to take deeper breaths and expand the lungs fully.
  2. Strengthen lung function: Improved diaphragm function can strengthen its flexibility and range of motion, enabling it to contract and relax more effectively during breathing.
  3. Enhances circulation: Reflexology techniques can increase blood flow and energy circulation throughout the body. Improved circulation can support lung function by efficiently delivering oxygen to the tissues and removing waste products.

Take Steps to Protect Your Respiratory Health with 4-Parts Advanced Hand Reflexology

Everyone is afraid of contracting air borne bacteria that can affect their respiratory functions. There are many ways you can protect your health by taking basic protective measures.

In the warm months moist air promotes mucus production that coats the nose and respiratory system while trapping harmful pathogens. Whereas during cold months, the air is very dry and there isnā€™t enough mucus production to trap harmful pathogens.

This is an excellent Reflexology protocol to ease the discomforts of respiratory problems such as COPD, Asthma, Emphysema, breath shortage or any other respiratory problems including Coronavirus.Ā
