You don’t have COVID and yet you are coughing, sneezing, your nose is dripping like a facet, you also have a headache and can’t sleep because you are coughing so much. Could it be Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)? Let Foot Reflexology help you to manage your RSV symptoms
I have been at home recovering from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) for the last two weeks. RSV is a common respiratory virus that can infect people of all ages, including babies. Symptoms are similar to cold-like, such as a runny or stuffy nose, coughing, sneezing, fever, or chills. For most people, RSV usually resolves within a week or two. For those with a weakened immune system or underlying health conditions, RSV can lead to more severe respiratory symptoms, including bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and rare cases, death.
RSV is highly contagious and spreads through respiratory secretions, such as saliva, mucus, or nasal. There is no specific treatment for RSV, but symptoms can be managed with over-the-counter medications, rest, and fluids. In severe cases, hospitalization may be necessary.
Healthy Daily Habits to Prevent RSV and other Illnesses
- Manage stress and get enough sleep, so the body does not get run down
- Build the body’s immunity by eating a healthy alkaline diet; be aware of how much acidity foods such as sugar, grain carbs, no nutrition value food, alcohol, meat, and dairy consumed.
- Keep the air moist so that the lining of the nose does not dry out. Moist nostrils trap pathogens, while dry nostrils do not.
- Boost the environment with a humidifier or take warm showers and baths, and drink plenty of hot beverages
- If a nasal spray is needed, try an over the counter saline spray
Don’t Forget to:
- Wash hands frequently
- Wear a face mask as appropriately
- Stay away from people that are sick
- Cover coughs and sneezes into a tissue or the elbow.
- Clean high touch areas with disinfectants
- Build the immune system with vitamin C, Zinc, Elderberry Syrup. There are plenty of supplements that help to support respiratory functions.
- Immunity begins in the stomach so watch what you eat
